The Knights of the Holy Tear

No Chivalry Here
The Knights of the Holy Tear are the more... physical... arm of the Divine Order. Their faith founded in their ordained position as slayers of monsters and evil most vile. They are particularly devoted to one of the Divine Orders saints whose tears were said to have imprisoned the mightiest of foes. Their position of power in the city lies alongside the rest of the Order that they are the founders of this safe haven from the monstrous world outside.
The Knights fear nothing more than monsters being loose within the walls of Spireholm. They will stop at nothing to remove 'taint' from the city even if some of the population must suffer or even perish for them to do so.
The Knights are well equipped with relics which have been passed down by generations of monster slayers. Whether these are superstitious nonsense or something much more powerful is something only those devoted to the Holy Tear can know for sure.
The Knights aren't the only keepers of the 'peace' in the city. We'll be looking into who else keeps the monsters at bay in our next update! Perhaps they might have the concerns of the citizens held more closely to their hearts...
A SHIVER Dice Roller Update

Spire, Arches, and Gargoyles Everywhere
Some of you may be aware of the SHIVER Dice Roller web app, if not you can head over to give it a try on our website here.
With our most recent stretch goal we'll be giving the app a lick of paint and a tune up. Firstly we'll be adding a Gothic Mode to the app for all your shadowy stories. We'll also be adding some additional functionality including rolling a single dice at random and other features to improve the app overall.
We've had a few comments and queries regarding a full Virtual Tabletop integration for SHIVER which we are looking into. SHIVER's symbolic dice have proved to increase the difficulty of this somewhat but we are exploring solutions and will keep the community posted on our progress.
If you have any functions you'd love to see in the Dice Roller App or future Virtual Tabletop integrations please do let us know in the comments below!
Exploring the Doom Calendar

Doom Waits for Nobody
Our favourite cultist is back and he's made some upgrade to his dastardly Doom Clock. SHIVER Gothic brings new rules to tell longer stories using the Doom mechanic in the form of the Doom Calendar. The Doom Calendar ties multiple Doom Clocks together so you can track the Doom players are racking up as part of a grander narrative beyond a one off story.
This could be used either to tie a series of stories together like a franchise of movies, or alternatively to tie chapters or episodes together much like a TV show would. Check our Ben's speedpaint of our diaobolical Doom Calendar.
In the stories featured in SHIVER Gothic we use the Doom Calendar to track the stability and situation within Spireholm & Dregstone. If you tick up a specific chapter's Doom Clock you'll add to the overall story's Doom Calendar. The more you control Doom in each chapter will help keep the situation in Spireholm under some semblance of control.
But it's not just Doom Clock results that can add to the Doom Calendar. Narrative events can add to the Calendar as well. Sneak past a nest of ghouls in the first chapter rather than dealing with it? That will tick up the Doom Calendar and may come back to bite (quite literally) later on in the story.
That's all from our delightful prophet of Doom for today. We'll be back soon with some more updates but for now make sure to keep a keen eye on the clock!

Chrome is where the heart is
Take your shot and roll the dice with these special edition Silver Bullet Monster Dice. We're already excited to hear that heavy thud when rolling these to vanquish the nearest werewolf in our vicinity. Here's a quick sneak peak at some samples. I'm sure you'll agree the new monster Core Skill symbols really pop off of these Skill Dice.
We also have Talent Dice in the set as well for when you need your silver bullets to be even pointier and deadlier. If you’re a dice goblin like some of us in the Parable Games team these will make a great edition to your horde!
That's all for today, we just wanted to drop a quick update to give you a peek at these, we got samples back and were so excited that we had to show them off!
Trash To Treasure

Dregstone is big on recycling
The inhabitants of Dregstone truly make the most of everything that washes up upon their shores. The citizens of Spireholm discard all manner of things and underground trash can quite easily become something extremely useful with a bit of thought and a dash of ingenuity.
Not only are the inhabitants of Dregstone crafty but they also well versed in the new age of science. Many a book has been cast out by the Divine Order due to edicts on heresy and most of those books (or at least a few pages of them) end up in Dregstone. So some of the creations are more innovative that you might imagine.
Recently, however, there have been strange sightings on the surface. The inhabitants of Dregstone have gotten more brazen, no longer content with just that which has been discarded. They have developed some more specific needs and have been acquiring them from the Spireholm populous.
But what could they need so badly from the surface? Well you'll have to dig into the story to find that one out! That's all for today's update but we'll be back soon with some more.
