A Sneak Peak at the Monster Dice

Roll Up Roll Up...

We've been working with our manufacturers and designers to really try and get the feel of the Gothic world of Spireholm into everything featured in the SHIVER Gothic Kickstarter. One thing the team has really enjoyed working on is the alternate Gothic Monster Symbols for all of the Core Skills. These look amazing on the new Monster Dice!

The Core Skill Dice for the Monster Dice Pack use a smoke effect to match nicely with the turn of the industrial age setting of Spireholm. Whilst the Talent Dice, well, they represent the city's bloodier nature.

We can't wait to get rolling with these new dice. If you think these look cool, keep your eyes peeled for later updates as the Special Edition Monster Dice are out of this world!

Urchins Abound - Stretch Goal Update

The streets of Spireholm have many the roaming gang of ragamuffins, guttersnipes, and urchins. They play an important roll in the city, carrying messages for many important people. Sometimes they are even brought into the employ of unscrupulous characters who are in need some cheap labour, and that is the crux of the Urchin Adventure story 'Breakout' which all backers will receive!

Within the Stacks, there is an entertainment venue of a certain brutal flavour. The Arena. Here entertainment and sport is made from the monsters that dwell outside the city's walls. Our loveable band of urchins has been tasked with retrieving something from the Arena but as chaos ensues where will this half-pint heist end?

This adventure is the perfect excuse to use the new Urchin background from SHIVER Gothic to explore the city from a slightly shorter height! SHIVER Open Gaming License

Fancy yourself a hacker eh?

One thing that we got asked about in the original SHIVER Kickstarter was whether we were going to release an Open Gaming License for the game. For those of you who aren't familiar with the concept an Open Game License sets out some ground rules to allow players to create their own content for SHIVER. 

Well we're please to announce that our Open Gaming License and attached System Reference Document are now available HERE!

If you want to write a story for SHIVER, create a monster or weapon, or get completely wild with custom rules then the OGL will let you do that.  As long as you follow the directions in the license you can distribute and sell your fan content to your heart's content!

We've also included with the OGL a few files to make putting together some content much easier, including images for the Core Skill symbols and various versions of the required logos to show that the thing you've created is compatible with SHIVER! 

Once again you can find all the files on www.shiverrpg.com!

We'll be updating these files to expand the license to include content from SHIVER Gothic and future books as they are released!

Dregstone Book Upgrade Stretch Goal - The Factions Underground

One Man's Trash is Another Rat's Treasure

As you may have guessed from the cover of Disciples of Dregstone some of the inhabitants are in fact ratfolk. A series of occurrences has turned once normal sized rats into ones of near human size. But not all rats are born equal. One rat rules over Dregstone with an iron paw. Rongor Half-Tail, The Rat King.

The Rat King's claim is founded mostly on him being the strongest (and some might say the most cruel) of his kind. None would dare to test his strength as he has amassed a huge following to his creed. All of Dregstone act in service to his master plan some even following him with cult like reverence. The upgraded endpapers for one side of the Disciples of Dregstone book will feature the sigil of the Rat King himself.

But not all of those who call Dregstone home acknowledge the Rat King as their leader. Some wish to cast him low and end both his rule and his schemes. The endpapers for the other side of the Disciples of Dregstone book will feature their emblem of resistance!

 We'll also be adding a suitably luminous ribbon to fit the feel of the Dregstone Book as well. We'll be back soon with some more updates where we will return above ground for some more about Spireholm!
